Make a positive impact on the lives of young people and become a Young Scot Board Trustee

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

We're on the hunt for enthusiastic people from a mixture of backgrounds and communities, with varying levels of skills and experience, to join our Board.

By joining us, you will help govern how we operate, oversee our strategic direction, and will help us grow our impact for the benefit of young people across Scotland.

Play a vital role and make an impact on the lives of young people

Our Board members play a vital role at Young Scot as we pursue our vision to provide young people with information, ideas and opportunities. Our work helps young people to make informed decisions and choices, connects them to opportunities, and empowers them to create and drive positive change. Our Board is responsible for governing how we operate and overseeing our strategic direction, helping us grow the impact we make.

A chance to develop personally and professionally

Not only is joining our Board a great way to support young people in Scotland, but it's also a chance for you to develop personally and professionally. You'll be joining an inclusive, friendly and passionate group of people – all fully committed to ensuring that young people in Scotland are supported to fulfil their potential.

We’re looking for Board Members who represent young people living in Scotland today

Our staff team and Board must have a variety of perspectives that represent the young people we all work hard to serve. Therefore, we are more interested in the viewpoints and skills you could bring, rather than your years of experience. We particularly welcome applications from Black people, people of colour, and disabled people – all of whom are under-represented within Young Scot.

Our journey to becoming an Anti-Racist Ally

At Young Scot, we're working hard to become explicitly Anti-Racist. We are doing this by taking a close look at our organisation and identifying what we do to contribute to structural racism. As part of this work, we've reviewed our recruitment processes and made several changes. You can read more about this important work here.
